Davido has an estimated net worth of $50 million dollars. He has worked with several big-time artistes in the Nigerian music sphere including the now defunct music duo PSquare, Dbanj, Olamide, Falz, Wizkid and a lot more artistes.

Davido earns from endorsement deals as he signed several multimillion naira endorsement deals with major brands like Guiness Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, and Pepsi.

He also earns a lot from private business deals and his music sales. Show earnings aren’t also left out of this.

Davido is paid well over N5 million naira per show, and he’s a regular face performing at different shows in and out of the country.

Davido was born David Adedeji Adeleke on the 21st of November in 1992 to Veronica Adeleke and a Nigerian business magnate and billionaire Dr. Deji Adeleke.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and his mother, Veronica Adewale was a lecturer before she passed on.

Davido obtained elementary education at topnotch school in Lagos State, Nigeria, known popularly for its class, British International School.

He studied Business Administration at the Oakland University where his love for music was stirred up.

While studying at the Oakland University, Davido bought musical production equipments and started producing sound beats.

Due to this move, he started performing poorly in school at the Oakland University, and dropped out of the school system.

Soon after he dropped out, he began schooling at a new school in London.

Schooling in London, he concentrated on vocals, leaving the focus on beats production on the lower side.

In 2011, Davido returned to Nigeria and abandoned music for a while because his Dad demanded that he schooled at the Babcock University first before anything else could come into play.

Being a billionaire’s son, a special inaugural class was provided for Davido after his Dad settled the school handsomely; that’s where Davido earned a music degree, at Babcock University.

Same year he landed in Nigeria, he started working on his album titled “Omo Baba Olowo”.

In May 2011, the star dropped a lead single for the album titled “Back Then”. Though the single didn’t hit the spotlight like the average platinum song, but it did receive massive airplay and was his first music recording.

The video for “Back Then” was directed by popular music director and producer Clarence Peters in May, 2011.

A fact was let out to Factory 78 TV by Davido when he unveiled that he single, Back Then, was recorded in London.

On the 30th of October, 2011, Davido released his very hit song titled “Dami Duro” assisted by talented Nigerian producer, Shizzi.

During the Occupy Nigeria protest in 2012, a video for Dami Duro was released and shot by Clarence Peters on January 8, 2012, in Lagos State, Nigeria.

In a chat with NotJustOk, one of the biggest Nigerian music sharing and download platforms online, Davido revealed that his song, Dami Duro, was recorded in 2011, in August, but unfortunately the song was leaked in October that year after he happily sent it to some close friends.

May 6th 2012 saw the release of a single off the HKN album titled “Overseas”.

Though it was officially released in May, the unfinished version of the single was leaked before the song was completed.

On September 8, 2012, a video for the song titled “All of You” was produced by Gospelondabeat; a supposed gospel music producer who got a prime chance meeting Davido at a mall and that’s how he got to produce the song for him, after meeting at a mall.

With aims to promote the album, Davido released videos for other singles like “Gbon Gbon”, “Feel Alright” and “Ekuro”.

Release of the Biggest Promotional Music Singles and African Campaign

Davido started work on his second studio music album in 2013, and dropped an hit single, Gobe, produced by Shizzi as the lead single for the forthcoming second album on the 25th of February in 2013.

The music video was directed and shot by Godfather Productions in South Africa.

“Gobe” was critically acclaimed and aired severally on TV stations and Radio FMs.

It also debuted the second spot on the list of Top 10 Songs of 2013 compiled by Premium Times.

He also released “One of a Kind”, an Africa praising single which he announced on his Twitter page would be released shortly from the album under work.

The single was also released by Shizzi, and music video for the song was shot in Africa by Godfather Productions.

Davido got even more creative and landed another single from the album titled “Skelewu” on the 13th of August, 2013.

Skelewu was a most played song in several states including Edo and Lagos States.

In the Top 10 Songs of the Year 2013 by Premium Times, Davido’s third single off the second album, Skelewu, debuted #5. The single also topped the Afribiz’s Top 100.

In the same year, Davido hosted an online dance competition on YouTube where he asked fans to dance to Skelewu and the winner of the dance competition would become $3,000 dollar richer.

The winner of the dance contest was announced as Bello Moshood Abiola.

Days after then competition saw its end, a music video directed by Sesan Ogunro went viral online.

The video was later disproved by Davido when he took to his Twitter account words which related to the video being an aftermath of betrayal, but an official video would be shot by a music producer based in the United Kingdom, More Musa.

Sesan Ogunro reacted by stating that it’s not very mature for Davido and his management to denigrate him and his company with such disapproving statements.

Eventually, the official video of the single was released and shot on the 21st of October, 2013, by Moe Musa in London, and was published on the biggest video shading platform, YouTube.

Davido released a fourth single off the second album which was underway in 2014, February 2nd.

The single was titled “Aye” and produced by T Spice.

A video for the single was released on the 7th of February, 2014, and directed by Clarence Peters.

Davido and his team at HKN Music released the fifth single off the album titled “Tchelete (Goodlife)”.

The song featured vocals from South African duo musicians Mafikizolo.

MTN Nigeria’s Play and Callertunez had a big role in the distribution of the song which was produced by HKN in-house producer Shizzi, and Oskido.

The South African music duo, Mafikizolo and Nigerian legendary music act, Davido met at MTN’s Elite Night Event in 2013, they had conversations and went ahead to do something good together which led to this song, “Tchelete”.

The music video of Tchelete was arranged and shot in South Africa, and landed on YouTube on the very first day of the month of May, 2014.

As the spirit of teamwork stepped in, Davido collaborated with several African music acts like Tiwa Savage, Lola Rae, Diamond Platnumz, Sarkodie and Mi Casa to release a song for the Africa Rising Campaign by DSTV.

The campaign was targeted towards encouraging Africans to be part of social investment projects in African communities.

The video was produced by Callback Dreams and the artistes whose vocals where featured in the song performed the song live at the launch of the campaign in Mauritius.

Davido announced it to The New Age newspaper that he has plans to do music who international music acts and rappers Meek Mill and Rick Ross.

July 2015 saw Davido dropping “Fans Mi”, a single in where he collaborated with American rap star, Meek Mill.

Davido is living a lavish lifestyle and making millions each month.

He’s had a tough time in the music industry and also a tough time in his private life. He has two daughters named Imade Aurora Oluwadamilola Adeleke and Hailey Veronika Adeleke.

He has two Babymamas neither of whom he has proposed to. Davido’s second daughter was given birth to in the United States by his second not-so-popular babymama, Amanda.

The first and, maybe favourite, is Imade Aurora, who was given birth to by Sophie Momodu, the dauther of Nigerian politician and CEO at Ovation Newspaper, Dele Momodu.

Running the DMW records and also going to shows frequently isn’t an easy activity for Davido, he’s a busy person but also finds time to spend with friends partying and show his daughters some love.
